What type of leather do you use?

We use only the finest Italian full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, ensuring each piece is unique as it develops a rich texture and patina over time. This leather is known for its exceptional durability, designed to withstand daily use while maintaining its strength and beauty.

Our Buttero vegetable-tanned leather is sourced from the Conceria Walpier Tannery in Tuscany, Italy, renowned for its traditional vegetable tanning methods using tree bark, a craft honed over hundreds of years.

Please note that our products are made from 100% natural leather. As a result, slight variations in color, texture, and natural markings may occur. These characteristics are a normal feature of genuine leather and add to the uniqueness of each handmade piece.

How do I personalize my item?

To Personalize Your Item:

1. Select your options on the product page (e.g., colour, leather type).

2. Enter your text in the personalisation box (initials, name, or short message).

3. Add the item to your cart.

Character Options: A-Z (uppercase only), 0-9, &, /, @, #, .

Note: Character limit varies depending on the size of the product.

How long will it take to make my order?

Each product is handmade by a single craftsman and built in the order it is received. Orders are generally crafted and shipped within 2-4 business days (excluding weekends and holidays), though processing times may vary depending on workload.

Please note, this build time refers to the creation process and does not include shipping transit time.

What are your shipping options and times?

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we currently ship internationally to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

Orders are fulfilled through Australia Post and include tracking. For express delivery, a signature is required.

Standard Shipping: Estimated delivery time is 10 to 25 business days.

Express Shipping: Estimated delivery time is 5 to 15 business days.

How is each product made?

Each product is entirely handmade, with every step carefully done by hand, without the use of machines.

1. Selecting and Preparing the Leather: We start by choosing premium Italian full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather. Each hide is inspected for quality to ensure only the best sections are used.

2. Cutting the Patterns: The leather patterns are cut by hand for precision, taking care to match the grain and texture for a cohesive look. This step is essential to ensure each piece fits perfectly in the final product.

3. Hand Stitching: We use traditional saddle stitching to assemble each piece. This technique involves stitching by hand with two needles and threads, creating a stronger and more durable bond than machine stitching. Unlike machine-stitched items, a saddle stitch won’t unravel if a thread breaks.

4. Edge Finishing: After stitching, the edges are burnished by hand. This involves smoothing and polishing the edges to create a clean, finished look and to prevent fraying over time.

5. Stamping and Personalisation: If the item is personalised, we stamp the leather by hand, carefully aligning each character or symbol to create a custom touch.

How do I care for my leather item?

When Leather Gets Dirty:

  • Use a leather cleaner specifically formulated for full-grain leather to gently remove stains.
  • After cleaning, apply a quality leather conditioner to restore moisture and keep the leather supple.
  • Make sure the conditioner is appropriate for vegetable-tanned leather.

When Leather Gets Dry:

  • Rub a colorless, natural leather cream or conditioner into the leather to replenish softness and restore depth.
  • Opt for conditioners with natural ingredients to preserve the leather's integrity and finish.

When Leather Gets Wet:

  • Gently wipe away the excess moisture with a clean cloth.
  • Allow the leather to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight.

Avoid Overstuffing Your Wallet or Cardholder:

Leather molds to what you carry, so keep it slim to maintain its shape. Overloading with cards or cash can stretch the leather and potentially weaken the stitching. For best results, stick to the recommended card limit to preserve a snug fit and sleek profile.

Protect from Scratches:

Full-grain leather, unlike synthetic or heavily treated leathers, reveals natural marks and scratches more easily, adding to its character. To keep your leather goods looking their best, handle them carefully and avoid contact with sharp or abrasive surfaces.

Can I make changes to the personalisation after ordering?

We understand that sometimes adjustments are needed. Please contact us immediately if you'd like to make a change, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

However, once production begins, changes are generally not possible because each personalised item is custom-made specifically for you and cannot be resold.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

We begin processing orders soon after they are placed, so cancellations and modifications are time-sensitive. If you need to cancel or make changes, please contact us as quickly as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate, but once production has started, cancellations and modifications may no longer be possible, especially for personalised items.
